I'm making another attempt at some new buttons. I'd like some feedback and suggestions. I hope to beat my older work, which seems to be impossible. lol

I guess I double clicked the button to add this thread, sorry. YOu can delete this one though. ;) Please?

I posted in your other thread but that didnt seem to have the attachments... anyways... The buttons look good, but the text is a bit hard to read at the top. Try to keep the entire text white and see if that still looks good. If not, make the top part just a tid bit brighter.

You enlarged the icon all the way, right?

I'll try it out and get back to you though.

Ok, well here's an update. I had some more work done, by my computer fudged up some of my work. Yes, even Macs screw up.

Looks better but the text is still a bit hard to read on the top.... here's an idea, give it a black 1px border around all the text. From the looks of it, it seems you do have it but only to the bottom of the text, do it all the way around and see how that looks.

And yes, I did enlarge it before :)

There actually is a border around it, but it gets faint under the "glare" on the button. The contrast between the colors in the new style seems greater than the old style I produced http://www.vbulletin-fans.com/images/vbstyle/reply.gif.

If others think it's still too hard to read, I'll just head back to the drawing board and maybe go for yet another light style.

Very cool. I hope these will be generally released. ;)

And don't be down on yourself. As a designer you will have moments of inspiration that seem to yield better work than normal, but at the end of the day it was still you who did it. And if you can do it once you can do it agin. And these are excellent.

If people actually are interested in them I'll gladly put more time into them and finish the graphics. But I took a break and had some fun mimicking mac a mac style.

I am very interested. Plus, know you of a decent Mac vB style?

I am making one right now. I tried to upload a pdf AND a png in another thread to no avail.

I am making one right now. I tried to upload a pdf AND a png in another thread to no avail. Yep, I found those. It was one of those doh moments, as I saw the previous thread name just as I clicked the submit button. But then realised that you have not finished the style, so it was not a totally dumb question.

BTW, I am always happy to help a fellow designer should he be in need of assistance (hosting, inbetweening etc). My time is very tight, hence me not contributing to this community to the level I would like, but I will try and make the time.

My resources for hosting are used up right now with the band. Money is so tight right now due to a recent move and a change in job. So if you could even help in providing a testing zone to work on styles, it would be greatly appreciated.
