[HowTo] Alternative Quote in a Box

version 0.0.2 for Gamma of vBulletin (by Floris (xiphoid) info@vBulletin.nl (info@vBulletin.nl))

DESCRIPTION: With this template modification you will quickly learn how to modify
and tweak the BB Code tag for QUOTE and use the custom style sheet section to fit
your site. These are the tweaks:
* Tweak #1 : (required) Put the quote in a box
* Tweak #2 : (optional) Add rounded corners to Mozilla browsers
* Tweak #3 : (optional) Add color to the border

Note: If you want to test this, it seems in gamma that the posts won't update,
so just quote something to see the new effect. (sigh!)
Note: The screenshot is from the beta 7 hack, it looks a bit different on gamma.

DISCLAIMER: This template modification is written for vBulletin version 3.0.0 Beta 7.
It will (probably) not work on lower or higher versions. Any of these files may not
be translated and may only be distributed by me through the following web site(s):
http://www.vBulletin.nl/ (http://www.vBulletin.nl/) and http://www.vBulletin.org.uk/ (http://www.vBulletin.org.uk/) and http://www.vBulletin.org/ (http://www.vBulletin.org/)

CREDITS: Mozilla Rounded Corners Idea and code clean-up by KuraFire
Original idea and stuff by xiphoid and Jelsoft for their product v3.
Note to this: Kier now uses fieldset in the new gamma style, so that is why this kind of changed from the previous beta 7 version I made.

SUPPORT: My time is limited and so is the support. I believe that this template
modification shows in a few simple steps where to look for what and please try to
learn from that, so you can quickly adjust it to your own personal needs.

For those who think the text is too close to the quote, change <fieldset .. to <p><fieldset .. and </fieldset> to </fieldset></p>

The difference is the previous one was optimized for beta 7 and this one is optimized for gamma :)

floris, is there a way to add the date/time of original post to the top of the quote box.

I discussed this with the vbulletin developers quite a while ago, and they convinced me why not to use that. On vBulletin.org they did implement this like 6 months ago (not sure if they still use it).

Without source code hacking, I don't think it is possible.

Ok, I hope they have their reasons, but I've been running it on vb2 for a while now and it is/was a godsend especially when you have threads over 1000 pages long at 40/page view.

Knowing when someone said something 3 months ago, that someone quoted was a good thing

floris, addendum to your final option.

if someone chooses to do the 2nd option, borders are removed.

add this on a seperate line below your change:

padding: 6px 6px 6px 6px;

should fix the border spacing issue.
