View Full Version : System Information User Selectable Postbit Dropdown Menu Mod
Boofo 1st January 2004, 12:39 AM Hack writing is a whole different world. I, too, am a veteran of PC support (of sorts), so I know where you are coming from. I was the same way in the beginning. It gets a lot easier to fall into the groove of detailing it all, as time goes on.;)

Synergy 3rd January 2004, 01:20 AM Just a small note if you are going to use this on the
postbit_legacy template
<!--System Specs-->
<if condition="$post[fieldx1] == Yes">
<div id="sysinfo_$post[postid]" align="center" class="smallfont" nowrap><a href="#sysinfo"><b>My System</b></a><script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("sysinfo_$post[postid]"); </script></div>
</if>
<!--/System Specs-->
change to
<!--System Specs-->
<if condition="$post[fieldx1] == Yes">
<div id="sysinfo_$post[postid]" align="left" class="smallfont" nowrap><a href="#sysinfo"><b>My System</b></a><script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("sysinfo_$post[postid]"); </script></div>
</if>
<!--/System Specs-->
Just so it aligns correctly :)
tigsman 3rd January 2004, 01:33 AM Thanx for noting that. I left it that way for myself actually, I'm using floris's vb.nl legacy postbit and align center is whats needed ;) :D

Slamdog 3rd January 2004, 02:13 AM well, i am gonna give it a go for an install.
This will clean up a lot of messy signature files, seeing as my board deals with overclocking, people like to post the rig they are using, so a standard format box will clear the sig file no end.
Great work
Slamdog 3rd January 2004, 03:18 AM well, worked first time. a really great mod.
tigsman 3rd January 2004, 03:49 AM looking good :D
tigsman 4th January 2004, 12:46 AM I suspected so, but I just upgraded to RC1 and this mod still appears to functioning normally :)

tigsman 5th January 2004, 03:14 AM got it running with a few alterations.. instead of PC specs I am using it for car specs :)
whatever your heart desires, thats the beauty of this mod :D
Caszi 6th January 2004, 02:15 AM Uh i was just wondering, are you all using the legacy postbit perchance. If so then there's my problem -.-;
tigsman 6th January 2004, 08:55 AM 3 steps:
1. Create User Profile Fields (Minimum of two required)
2. Add Sysinfo Menu to postbit AND/OR postbit_legacy
3. Add System Specs to postbit AND/OR postbit_legacy (Only postbit_legacy example shown)
as an example, yes.. I'm using the postibt_legacy template in my directions. But you can put it in both the legacy and standard postbits.
since my forum allows both postbits (user selectable) I have this mod installed in both.
Caszi 7th January 2004, 12:07 AM Well it still kinda bugs me that it wont work for me. But i'm not one to complain. It's a great mod that will benefit everyone who installs, and your an extremely helpfull hacker ^__^ great work!
tigsman 7th January 2004, 12:39 AM well, if/when u get a chance, email me your postbit template or just post it here and I'll see if anything stands out for me to fix :)
carloshax 13th January 2004, 03:27 AM Im having abit of a problem i added everthing where it said in the file but i cannot get it to display in the postbit, im trying to get it just above the avatar without luck.
