The new system I must admit has me a hair confused. Most likely because I'm too busy to devote all the time I need to it...

Is there any good guides/howto's that explore the new systems capabilities?

Basically, I've gotten this kind of request that will require custom code as well as custom SQL information:

A recipie database where users can browse or search by ingredients, and display recipies.
A check where a user has claimed to have tried the reciepie, and a rating for it.
A list of what users have tried the recipie.

I know I'll get it done eventually (Time permitting) what I'm curious on the plugin system is how far I DON'T have to go, or if I'm stuck knuckling down and writing up some extra pages from the ground up.
