View Full Version : New to forum maduj 10th December 2005, 12:29 PM I am new to this forum. Would like to know difference between PHPBB and VBulletin Floris 10th December 2005, 12:32 PM phpBB is free, coded by enthousiasts and has basic features. (fun for starters) vBulletin is a commercial script, coded by professionals, with enhanced and well balanced features (great for everybody) Robert 11th December 2005, 01:15 AM Also the difference is community support. While vB is paid, the number of amazing ad-ons (which are usually free) is immense. phpBB does have hacks which are created for it, but they are just not in the same league (IMHO). adb22791 12th December 2005, 04:30 AM Plus vbulletins plugin system > * Pyro 14th December 2005, 03:25 AM I'm going to have to agree with Alex on this one :) The vB plugin system is extremely extremely robust. It allows installing most hacks on the fly with little downtime, just a few simple clicks and sometimes a template edit. Adding new non-stock features to your bulletin board has never been any easier. You can install an entire arcade with about 3 clicks :D Sauron 4th January 2006, 09:51 AM I prefer vbulletin, but for free i think SMF is the right way to go. javajohn 13th April 2006, 11:59 AM lots of difference my freind vb is advance and most poppuler than anny orthers |
