I am working on a style I am for now calling Retro Blue. I would say I am halfway done, hence the .5 in the title of the thread. I am looking for some people that would be kind enough to try it on a test forum...and test it out. Try it out with different settings on, offer suggestions.

I'll post a couple images from the design to give you a clue what feel it is. I am trying to go with a fun but clean retro design. In fact, it matches my signature...so anyway. Yeah.

Thanks in advance.

Walk around in my test area... (http://www.neeto.org/)

*Added a screenshot of my .6 version, which has a few added graphics and the header/navbar has been worked more.
*Updated the version to .6 for the download. Overwrite all files, please, as a couple have changed slightly.

Version .6 has a more advanced header and navbar, with a linked image when there is a new pm. It has the nav buttons moved and fit into the style better. It also has more graphics, with the obvious intention of replacing all the original graphics.

Oh, I suppose I should point out that I have not just done button images, but that there are a growing number of template changes that I have and will continue to add to the design. Right now the navbar is the most heavily modified, while the postbits remain vanilla.
This is just because I have not gotten to the other parts yet. But I would love some suggestions! Please?

Well I love the buttons. So I am expecting great things from the style. ;)

Love your work.

Yeah, I'm trying something vastly different. Maybe some won't like it. But I'm having fun making it. If you test it out, you'll see it all fits in together. And then you can also offer me some suggestions. ;)

I admit the buttons look a little odd when seen out of context. But the whole thing sort of fits together to form a unique design, I think.

Disjunto, or anyone else who has toyed with it, do you have any suggestions?

general page layout:

corners need to not be square

and the tfoot class seems a bit out of place somehow, not sure how though :P

I can round the corners. I'll look into the dark tan, but it looks good to me. Anyone else think the footer looks odd?
Thanks!

Actually, it will be very hard to make the page corners rounded with the background being patterned. If you have a suggestion as to how that could be done, I am all for it.

A screenshot has been added to the first post in this thread.

Thanks guys. Version .6 is uploaded in the first post. I wasn't going to share it yet, but I am happy with the changes I made, and I like to share.

Well, I have now rounded the corners of the border around the forums. Thanks! Took me a moment to rethink how I would normally round a corner because of the psychedelic background image.

the rounded corners are kinda bugged on your site in firefox

I'll look into it when I am on break at home. Thanks!
Fixed. Thanks!

now to discuss this here footer :P it's currently way out of place, maybe styling it like you have done with the navbar links or something would be good, i'm really not sure

Also, in Showthread, the linear and hybrid buttons have a border around them (simple border="0" issue there i believe)

lol That's what you get for going to the live version and watching me work. lol I'll get the footer done. I plan on making it a rounded two-tone box. :)

hehe, it's fun checking peoples work half-way through them coding that section :P

PS: you need to add a "Remember Me?" checkbox to the style :p

Neeto

It's selected by default. My belief if that if people wish to logout, they can logout.
*edit* If people really, really want that "feature" back in, I will make it controlled via a replacement variable (with it gone by default).

Disjunto has been helping me out a lot, so progress has been going pretty smooth. If someone wants to do a test of the current build of the style, say something, and I will zip the style and images together, otherwise I'll just wait until I am finished. :)

I would love to help out but an working away like mad. I will try and have a look over the weekend if you can wait that long for my feedback.
