A while ago I have been talking to Wayne about his personal site vBulletin-CSS.com which was put up after Kier's request to make vBulletin XHTML/CSS.

Hm .. it didn't seem to go nowhere as big-talkers couldn't produce.

However, I believe in the project and asked Wayne for the CSS .sql and domain and he gave it. I am trying to find a license for this and then I will try to get the .sql and import it into a fresh 3.5.4 so we can continue. The domain is now registered for another 12 months to give us enough time to set this up.

Of course, having a single user move a complete layout/design into XHTML/CSS only to replace table-design with div-design .. is not an option. But if we put our heads together and all our little results together we might get pretty close. And we can use it as example for Kier to perhaps consider to change elements in the current design with an improved version in DIV's. Every little step closer is a step forward, not backwards. I think. Who knows ;)

At least it could be inspiration to improve vB4? :bear:

Wayne said he'd mail me the SQL dump, but either I missed it or can't find the mail or he didn't send it yet. I will look into that later.

I just wanted to let you know I have the motivation to continue with this small project. The goal is not to grow a big community out of it, but to have a place for those with the same interest to try and work together. It's called "community" for a reason ;)

Very cool. I love the vB interface, but agree with could do with a little tweaking.

Though, I expect the trolling and flaming will be fairly high. Maybe we could have a rule that unless you have had at least 3 template design accepted you can't flame anyone, else you will be banned?

It was a shame that the negative attitudes from some people virtually derailed the initial project. Here is to hoping this time it flies.

Floris, count me in.

I wanted to work on a XHTML/CSS template myself, but if we can work on it as a community, then I definitely want to join in ;)

Do you wish to continue with this project still, Floris?
I know it's been a while since you posted this thread but it never hurts to try again.
