Folks-
I am building a new forum--which has not yet gone public. I would really like to get some feedback from folks here on the layout. I have modified the major template pretty extensively. This will be used by people who are generally not familiar with forums.
Guests can see everything, but not post.

Colours don't really match and some of the text is quite large, I would just resize the text though :) Very different look, I agree.

wow.it looks so different..First, sorry to be slow in responding--I had given up on anyone ever replying to my original post.
Okay, I was going for "different". Is it different-better?
The colors came from my customer--I can't change those much.
Most of the CSS rules are all set to use the default size set in the visitor's browser (some are set to 90% of that). Does the type look bigger to you than other websites you visit? What have you got your defaults set to?

Don't make your text bigger than 12 point for regular typing and nothing larger than 14 overall. :)

The text is fine, bigger is sometimes better. The default text is kinda hard to read, being so small. My browser settings are default. If you could work a little bit more with the colors to give it a softer feel I think that should do the trick. Right now it just looks too solid and bland. fading some colors together would help as well.

Why was this link deleted? I'd like to see it and comment :)Because that forum no longer exists. The guy I was building it for ( a year and a half ago)had business problems and had to cancel the project.
This thread (http://www.vbulletin-styles.com/showthread.php?t=22916) talks about a newer pproject that I have been working on--it has screen captures.
