i am looking for 3 icons about the same size as the "new posts / no new posts / lock" icons on forum home.

1) something to symbalize and auction (maybe a hammer)

2) something to symbalize classifieds

2) something to symbalize a business directory

you are welcome to throw some ideas around :)

Tip:
If you want to schrink them, in PhotoShop, first select the whole image, then do a copy and if possible, copy merged. Then make a new image, and paste it. Now you will not be restrickted to the image limit of a .gif file. The quality after schrinking will be much better.
