Folks-

I've been screwing around, trying to come up with a more-sensible layout for the navagation. Here's what I've come up with so far. I haven't really worked on a color pallete yet, a not everything lines up right. What I am interested in is what y'all think of the layout--where stuff is, how its grouped.

Thanks!

I was hoping you'd comment!

I like it.Thanks--I'm almost happy with it.

thats going to need some very specific template conditionals to work correctlyYup--that's the conditional you helped me with last week!

One of the things that I don't like is that "Mark this forum read" and "Mark all forums read" are in different menus. Maybe I should make the content of the "Tools" menu change based on the location, rather than adding a new menu.

I reworked the navbar a bit. I've made the content of the "Tools" menu change depending on what the user is viewing.

The name of the menu also changes-- don't know if I'm happy that.

should be kept as tools imo, cause it always contains the standard stuff

Folks-

I figured it was time for a status report/critique.

I have re-worked the threadbit templates. The attachment is the moderator view--which is slightly different frrom the member view.

1. The thread displayed in red is moderated

2. I wanted a stronger visual distinction between read threads and new threads--does this work?

3. Should there be some additional visual clue for threads a.) to which one has posted, b.) to which one has subscribed?

4. there is a yellow band above the first announcement that I have to get rid of--still trying to find what causes it.

That looks great! Now I don't feel so good about my little ole header.

That looks great! Now I don't feel so good about my little ole header.I like your design--nice simple shallow header that doesn't take up a ton of screen real estate.

I see that you made a two-column layout on your home page, similar to what I did on my page.

If you want to use any of the effects I did, just ask--happy to share.

Thanks, I was already planning on having a drop down box and all. However your entire LAYOUT is ama-za-zing!

Perhaps making the New thread icon "glow" a bit, if you're worried about it. Other than that it looks great :D
