With more and more developers creating skins for vbulletin there should be a standard created to define the proper placement of skins within the images directory stucture. This would ease the instalation of custom skins and more imporatantly help with configuration control. A simple start would be to recommend that a custom skins directory be created under the image directory .../images/custom skins/ for custom skin placement.
Examples :
/..images/custom skins/professional/
/..images/custom skins/bluevison/
/..images/custom skins/yourname/

There could be other benifits by setting a standard but the above examples will make if easier on all users.

Thoughts?

It's not hard to see where to put them image dir. And it's not hard to change it over in the AdminCP. And i usually do, say for this professional style ../proimages/ not /images/proimages/ or something.

I skin vB`s proffessionally and althought its not light work, the way in which buttons/images and styles are stores is great.

vB3 had a major over work of this and allows you to set the directory location for each style within the styles css options etc, its not hard and takes like 3 seconds.

Most good skinners will also provide you with details on how the skin is layed out and wheer images should go anyways,a nd if they are good then they,ll be suing the standards set in vB3 :)

I've always prefered to be more organized, especially since I'm building up two skins for my forums. so more like /style/cblue or /style/nsilver
