Hello

I have been looking for a newer version of the old graphical text mod. Unfortunately, the old one did not work for newer vB releases and I did not want to use the newer cool quotes hacks either as they don't fit for my site. So I coded a new one with graphical quotes. It looks similar to the version 1 cool quotes from vbtemplates.com, however with a different code and with graphics.

Anyway, this is my gift to vBulletin.nl as I feel very comfortable here and would like to thank the community in some form. :)

Contents of the .zip file as follows:

- installation instructions - step-by-step for newbies such as myself :)
- sliced .gif images (vBulletin.nl Professional Style)
- bbcode_quote modified code
- .psd file for those of you who would like to change the colors/size etc.

Nice graphics! Does it work for vbulletin 3.0.1? Because after working a while on customizing it, I don't really feel like upgrading.

Hello Timekeeper. I must say that I cannot answer your question. But this is mostly html so I doubt there'd be any problems. I am running 3.0.3 so I cannot do a test.

Hi I do like your graphics, but I have a question.....

Why don't the lines match the quotes? As you can see the horizontal line above is aligned but the one below don't match the size of the quotation box. How can I fix this? I only modified this in the Professional Style Default and not the alpha mode.

Original code:
<div style="margin:20px; margin-top:5px; <if condition="$show['iewidthfix']">width: 100%;</if>">
<div class="smallfont" style="margin-bottom:2px"><strong>$vbphrase[quote]</strong>: <if condition="$show['username']"><span class="time">(<phrase 1="$username">$vbphrase[originally_posted_by_x]</phrase>)</span></if></div>
<table cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%">
<tr>
<td class="alt1" style="border:1px inset">
$message
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>

Replaced with the graphic quotes hack.

@kn0ck0ut: I don't get what u mean??

What I am saying is the horizontal lines which make the quotation box...........the one below is not parallel to the quotes.....as is the one on top.

See the difference between these two:

How it should look:

How it does in my board:

so?? nobody can offer some help?
I think the hack was designed for the short version of the skin and not the expanded mode, that is why I am showing my quotes like I am.

I hope somebody who knows about this can offer some help and tell me what I need to alter so my problem gets fixed.

No. This got nothing wrong with your Skin as well as to the coding. You want to know why, then copy this code to your quote Box, and see what's the result.

kn0ck0ut say nobody can offer some help?
kn0ck0ut think the hack was designed for the short version of the skin and not the expanded mode, that is why he's showing my quotes like him.

Disregard my comments, I have uninstalled this hack as I see no reason to use it when it doesn't work for me ( too dumb I think )
Thanks for the work spent on this hack to creator of it.

Very awesome. I used that old hack for VB2.0 that you're talking about with the graphical quotes. This definitely looks nice and goes great with my style though, so thanks a lot... this is just the kind of thing I was looking for.
