I really am having a hard time coming up with something cool to replace the default http://forums.hoytroid.com/images/icons/icon1.gif and http://forums.hoytroid.com/images/statusicon/thread_dot.gif type images. Is there a good resource for templates/PSDs or just a place I can get ideas from?

One of the best things to do is to check out other forums which have cool styles as they usually have custom icons as well. 99% of them are copy right so you can't just grab em, but they are a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

And there are a number of Graphic Designers around here who can do custom ones for you.

Also, you can check out a couple of the vB Style sites. A number of them sell just button sets and icons so you don't have to buy an entire style to get a couple of images.

You can also ask here by giving an example of your style, maybe someone can come up with anything.

Thanks for the suggestions guys :D I just went to like, 90 sites powered by vBulletin and had a glance at their icons. I've got some great ideas now!
