Nice. Clean, elegant though a little gold for my taste.
Criticisms:
I would remake your buttons in your forum style. It is clean and distinctive but needs finishing.
On your new items on your home page I would put the date of the article. I just downloaded 3.0.5 from the members area a couple of days ago, but I don't know if I downloaded it before of after you poster your XSS update notice.
On the whole it is a very good forum with a lot of potential. Jus a couple of fine tuning adjustments and you will have it.
I also like the content. I have a design background not programming and "backend" work is something that I am having to learn to manage my vB forum effectively. But I have a lot of questions that general books on PHP & MySQL don't seem to answer. So articles on "how to's" would be very cool.

The buttons are in the works - We have some of them completed, but still have a handful to do.

Pretty interesting site.. /me registers!
Design wise - I am not too keen at having that dark shade of brown with the blend of blue you have it.
Second, I would suggest that you increase the cell padding / spacing of the table which has The Forum Zone (http://www.theforumzone.com/) - Join The Free Coop Ad Network (http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ad-network/?s=492) link... it is touching the borders!
